Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Homes

How many years have you been in business?

Victory Custom Homes was incorporated in 2006. As the company’s owner, I have more than 30 years of residential construction experience. For 16 years I worked as a trade contractor, then partnered with another contractor for 16 years to build custom homes.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. I am licensed as a general contractor in the state of Georgia (Lic. # RBQA003998). Victory Custom Homes Inc. is a licensed business in Dawson County (License #LIC-6-16-18725) and we are fully insured with Workmen’s Compensation and General Liability with the Dawson County Insurance agency.

How is your construction process different than other builders?

Our key difference is that every homeowner deals directly with the owner. That’s me! We also limit the number of projects we build so that I can give my personal attention to each customer.

We utilize a project management system that helps us keep you regularly informed of the progress on your project and the budget status. Our system also leads you through a detailed, itemized product selection process that helps you make informed decisions on the products that you want installed in your home.

What type of warranty do you offer?

We offer a one-year warranty that was developed by the National Association of Home Builders.

Do you offer any “Green” building options?

We make green building options available to you during the selection process so you can decide which ones fit your desires and budget. We also can certify your home through some of the most recognized third-party organizations in the country if that is one of your needs.

Do you build from plans you supply, or can we select our own plans?

We can build from your plans or we can help you select a plan from a large offering of proven plan designs. If you desire to have a plan custom drawn, we offer design services as well.

Who will oversee the construction of my project and who do I call with questions or concerns?

Bill Goode, the owner of the company. I am the project manager on every home we build or renovate.

How and when can I make changes or upgrades before and during construction?

Changes and upgrades are a part of our system. At any time before or during construction you have the ability to make changes.

When will the final cost of my project be determined?

We begin every project with a line-item budget in place based on plans and specifications. Final cost can change with additions or upgrades, and you make those decisions before any money is spent. There are no surprises in the end.

How often will I have access to the home during the building process?

Access to the project is available to you anytime. However, for liability reasons we ask that you notify us of your visit so we can inform you of potential hazards that may be present. We strive to keep a clean and safe work environment for you as well as our employees.

How long will my home take to complete?

The timeline on every home differs based on size and complexity. However, our system incorporates a predetermined timeline based on your specific plans and specifications. You are informed of any changes to that timeline on regularly scheduled project updates.

What’s your process for inspection at key points of construction, at final walk-through, and to address any matters that need to be corrected or finalized?

All of that is taken into consideration in our system. The project manager completes detailed inspections after each phase of construction is completed. We have a scheduled project orientation with the customer when the construction is completed. Any corrections necessary are made before the contract is finalized.
